Not sure which will be better on a laptop, but if it's anyhing like my experience with x64 on a desktop machine, then I'll recommend you go with Vista x64. It's faster and can use more memory than it's 32-Bit counterpart. Just make sure you have Vista x64 drivers for all you external devices such as hard disk
